3D CAD modelling
Using the latest Solidworks CAD software we can take your ideas and turn them into usable CAD models. With a 3D CAD model, you can interact directly with 3D printing services as well as conventional manufacturing methods such as machining, casting, forging etc. Each manufacturing method requires slightly different aspects of the design and we can advise you and do that for you.
Design advice for 3D printing
With the large uptake of 3D printing technologies it is imperative that the design of parts consider this technology. 3D printing is an additive technology where machining is a subtractive one. Design needs to consider this to make your parts perform optimally and still be cost effective. ID3D offer hands on design advice for you to optimise your parts for 3D printing.

Scanning
Using a stationary or hand-held scanner we can quickly digitise those difficult to model parts. Using the scanned data alongside CAD tools we can create a robust and accurate CAD model for manufacture.
Alternatively use scanned data to provide a cad image of an item or area to design within. For example scan an engine bay to provide a CAD file boundaries for engine layout.
Also great for archiving of digital copies of designs. Even sculptures and artefacts can be digitised for reproduction or insurance.

Engineering drawings and documentation
No matter how flash the 3D model is sometimes a good old fashioned 2D drawing is necessary. Be it for Patent application, Finish machining spec or general communication a 2D drawing is vital. Using the 3D CAD model we can produce those drawing for you.
Once your product is ready then we can also help you with Bills of materials, exploded views and assembly instructions.
